Biggest Loser Stock Today; Massive Share Crash; Company Announced Price Cut

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (NSE: M&M) Shares Price: Shares of the leading automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd saw a sharp decline of more than 7 percent on Wednesday, July 10. With this, it became the biggest loser in Nifty today.

The company had announced a price cut on its best-selling SUV model ‘XUV 700’ a day earlier amid sluggish demand. Since then, its shares have fallen.

Amid the price war in the SUV segment, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has cut the price of the AX7 range of XUV 700 by Rs 2 lakh.

The company said that now the price of this model starts at Rs 19.49 lakh, while earlier it was priced at Rs 21.4 lakh.

Mahindra said that this special price will be available for only 4 months. The company said in a statement, “The new special price aims to make the XUV 700 even more accessible to customers.”

Earlier, during the trading on Tuesday, July 9, auto stocks saw a huge surge. The main reason behind this was the announcement by the UP government to waive registration fees on hybrid cars.

The state government has taken this step to encourage eco-friendly automobiles in the state. After this decision, the shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s rival company Maruti Suzuki rose by up to 7 percent on Tuesday.

Experts say that apart from this, one of the reasons for the fall in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd shares can also be profit booking by investors.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd shares have risen by about 60 percent so far this year. At the same time, in the last year, it has given a return of about 76 percent to investors.

In June, due to the Lok Sabha elections and the scorching heat, there was a slowdown in car sales. According to reports, dealers currently have an unsold inventory of about Rs 60,000 crore.
