First-time ₹492 And ₹5,653 Govt Share Got A Place In The Trillion Club Companies

New Delhi: The domestic stock market has seen a lot of growth recently. Last week, the BSE Sensex touched the 80,000 mark for the first time. 

This has led to a rise in the value of listed companies. In the very first instance in the nation, the number of companies that have a market value of one lakh crore has surpassed 100.

So far this year, 29 companies have joined this club. Currently, 101 companies are included in this club.

Two government companies Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) have got a place in this special club for the first time. 

The shares of these companies have given multi-bagger returns during this period. 

Additionally, Samvardhan Motherson International, Cummins India, and Indus Towers are also included in the club.

On the other hand, two companies have been out of this club this year. These include Shri Cement and Adani Total Gas. 

According to a report, at the end of last year i.e. 2023, the number of companies in the country with a market cap of Rs 1 lakh crore was 74. 

So far this year, 29 new companies have joined this elite club. 

Companies that reached this mark are Vodafone Idea, ABB India,  Solar Industries, Vedanta, JSW Energy, NHPC Zydus Lifesciences Bosch, CG Power and Industries, NHPC, BHEL and Microtech Developers.

Their shares have gained 50 to 90% this year. RVNL shares rose 19 per cent on Friday and its market cap crossed Rs 1 lakh crore. 

This year, the stock has climbed 174 percent so far. On the other hand, MDL shares have gained 157 percent this year.

Adani Total Gas Out

This year only two companies have dropped out of the trillion club. These include Adani Group’s Adani Total Gas and Shree Cement. 

Due to the fall in the shares of these two companies, their market cap has fallen. 

The share of Adani Total Gas reached Rs 1,259.90 on December 8 last year, which was its 52-week top. But it declined after that. 

On Friday, it closed at Rs 891.35 and its market cap remained at Rs 98,031.57 crore. The market cap of Shree Cement has remained at Rs 99,259.76 crore. 

The Sensex has gained 10 percent so far this year. The stock market has risen for the fifth consecutive week. This is happening in the very first instance this year.
